Tests are almost done. I am dreaming of sleeping somewhere other than my couch very soon.

I'll be so happy when I'm free from "waking up early and finishing studying" and turning off all of my alarms at 5 am.

Longing for Summer

Eyes on the prize that will be mailed to me in 6-8 weeks...

Should a college diploma really be like a cereal box mail-in offer?

Got tickets...

to see GNR at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC on May 12th! I got in on the secret presale this morning at 9 a.m., so I got main floor tickets... and it's already sold out!!

We're planning to stay at the W Times Square on points for the night of the show. I'm excited. I hope Slash is the surprise guest that comes back to play these shows. This summer is going to be awesome!

Two more weeks of classes. Lots of stuff I still need to do. I could fill this entry with tons of cliches about graduating and entering THE REAL WORLD, but I'll spare you.

... is my future home!!! :) Senthil and I got the place. It's a 925 square foot condo on the 28th floor of a building on the north end of the Gold Coast! :)

Oak floors throughout, granite countertops in the kitchen, tons of closet space:

The view from the living room... Lake Michigan, North Avenue/Oak Street Beaches, Navy Pier:

Chicago, here I come!!!

Goa, anyone?

I was reading the New York Times this morning, and I found an article that called Goa the "hippie trail of India" and the "Indian Cancun." While I've heard plenty about Goa before, this article just made it seem really cool. I'll have to try and make a stop while I'm in India this summer. Anyone want to join me? :)

Read the NY Times article about Goa here.

My mom has been begging me to buy my cap and gown, so I checked on it today.

I found out the tassel color I have been working toward for four years is...

Finally. A color that represents my true inner nature!

The color must have been picked for the B-School by someone from COAS or SPEA. :P

What about March?

It's just about a month to graduation... I can't believe it! May 6th will be here in like 5 minutes.

Just yesterday I was getting initiated in the art of beer bonging and getting the old '92 Plymouth Acclaim towed outside of Terra Trace at 10:00 a.m. Kegs and Eggs during my first Little 5... And it seems like a year ago I was subsisting only on crab rangoon from (old) Szechuan Garden and watching fuzzy TV.

I have been looking forward to graduation for a long time, but now I'm aggravated that I won't be able to get everything done in time. Job/lease/bills/responsibility/adult situations that involve proper grooming and good manners loom on the horizon. I would love to take a "victory lap," but now I'm committed to joining reality. I'm not exactly sure what happened to March, but I need to get caught up on everything, so I can actually graduate... Regardless of how I feel. I am so sick of getting sick. What's up with this spring?

I'm still looking at places to live in Chicago. Senthil is set on Gold Coast/LSD, but he just started a new project in Philly, so we have some time to be indecisive. I still don't know how we're going to fit all of our junk into one small space. It may take some downsizing... Especially in the closet area. I'm getting pretty excited about moving, and I even got some surprise Lollapalooza tickets in the mail:

3 August days in Grant Park. I hope the heat and dehydration doesn't start making me like Perry Farrell's voice. I'm looking forward to RHCP, Flaming Lips, QOTSA, Sleater-Kinney, and Lady Sovereign. I'm still holding out for the Smashing Pumpkins reunion to be added at the last minute. :) Too bad Tool, Daft Punk, and Oakenfold can't be borrowed from Coachella and Radiohead and Tom Petty can't be borrowed from Bonnaroo. I wish I were some massive summer festival organizer, so I could have all the bands I want to see in one place.

Senthil booked tickets to India for the great Asian adventure this summer. I'm taking supposedly the longest commercial flight in the world (18 hours) from Newark to Singapore and then on to Madras after a short stopover. We're going in "Executive Economy," and we get to have the whole Singapore Airlines experience. It will be cool to actually get meals instead of pretzels or fiesta snack mix, for once. I'm going for the Oriental Vegetarian meals, along with some ice cream! :)

Also, I think I have 85% convinced my parents about the great European adventure this summer. Give me a few more weeks, and they'll give in. This will be in lazy American traveler form on a Celebrity cruise to rest myself for the burning hot sun of India. :)

All of this right now is just a dream... Which makes it the source of my aggravation.
